Presentation Announcement:
You are invited to join us at http://www.tara.ca/? on Wednesday, May 20 from 12:00 to 1:30 for a lunchtime Seminar on Server Virtualization
Are you considering purchasing or upgrading a server virtualization platform? Curious to learn more about server virtualization, without "single vendor sales hype" as a major component of the presentation? If so, you will be interested in this presentation and live demonstration of 3 virtualization platforms by Tim Chipman.
Topics covered will include: a brief introduction to the history and general approaches used in virtualization; a discussion of applicability (when to use or not use virtualization?); a review of benefits (and drawbacks) of virtualization; a comparison of solutions from 6 vendors; and then a live demonstration using 3 virtualization platforms to illustrate various features discussed in the presentation. The presentation is intended to be interactive and questions & discussion will be encouraged.
Tim is an independent I.T. solutions consultant with over 10 years of experience developing, deploying and managing I.T. solutions in a range of academic and business environments. His expertise includes High Performance Computing, Virtualization, Open Source Technologies, Document Management Solutions and Web based Data Management. (Please refer to http://FortechITSolutions.ca for more detail).
